Dear reader, this week the topic would have been winter. But here in Basel is no snow at the moment. I hope the snow will comeback again this winter, to do this work later on.
So I don't like to upload a image without snow. I decided to change the weeks topic to "New born". This week my sister has born her fourth baby. So I made some picture of him. It was not so easy to get good images. The difficult was the bad illumination in the hospital. My goal was not to use the flash. I used the 24-70mm 2.8L lenses. Without flash light I had to set the ISO value to 1600 and the deepest f-number 2.8.
The sharp area by 2.8 was extremly short when I took pictures with focal lenght with 24 mm. That mean only a part of the babys head was sharp. I steped some meter back and with zoom the sharp area increased
immediately. In this situation it would be better to use 3.5 or 4 f-value, but I couldn't because of the light.
I changed the color image to the B&W version. The reson for that is the spotted skin of the newborn. The skin looks much smoother in black & white.
