Liestal - Chienbäse

This week I visited the "Chienbäse"-parade in Liestal. This one of the most spectacular tradition here in switzerland.
300 brave guys carry a bundle of burning wood through the old city center. In between them six burning carriage rolling throug the towns gate.
Thousends of people are folling the parade from the street borders. Along the route stand the firefighters to cool down the housewalls and also the carriers. When you stand at the streetborder you can feel the heat and smell the smoke of burning wood. A very spezial moment is when the carrage goes through the gate and the tower stand in flames. This moment I captured here. I hope you like the illumination of the situation.
